THE ARCTIC ADVENTURES OF HAMMERFEST
Get ready to be thrilled!

Adventure for life
Get ready to be thrilled with Harehopp. Experiences and feelings of mastery that will stay with you for the rest of your life.

The feeling of freedom when you master the snowmobile in the unique terrain around Hammerfest is truly unmatched.

This is not a trip over flat plateaus. Here you will find hills, mountains, and fjords that will take your breath away — at least for a while.
Where and how do you get here?
Our starting point for this experience is the town of Hammerfest, with the North Cape only 90 kilometers away in a straight line.
Hammerfest is the northernmost town in the world, located at 70 degrees north, where the climate can be harsh, cold, and challenging — yet the people are welcoming, open, and warm. This is a part of the world where living in harmony with nature requires effort, knowledge, and focus to navigate an ever-changing environment, from dazzling sunlight to fierce snowstorms.
The easiest way to travel here is via Alta Airport (ALF), with direct flights from Oslo (OSL). You will be greeted at the airport and transported to Hammerfest. The journey takes about two hours by car or boat.Another option is to transfer flights in Tromsø (TOS) or Alta and continue on to Hammerfest Airport (HFT).

Your safety
Your safety — and the safety of the entire group — is always our top priority. A minimum of two guides will lead every tour. With thorough training, solid preparation, and the best safety equipment on the market, we guarantee that you are in the best hands.
These activities are not recommended for anyone with back problems or for pregnant participants. A valid driver’s licence for a car or motorcycle is required, or alternatively a snowmobile licence.
Our guides are trained in first aid and carry navigation equipment and a satellite phone.

The story of Harehopp Hut

The story of Harehopp Hut

When the Germans retreated from Finnmark in 1944, some chose to stay behind. In the mountains above Hammerfest, they sought refuge in the Harehopp cabin by Glimmevann – a small log cabin that became a symbol of resistance and hope. This is the story of Odd and Gunn Evensen, Hans Jørgen Angel and the Kivijervi brothers – and the cabin that survived the war.

Recently, colleagues from BNG and BES came together in Hammerfest, Northern Norway – and it turned into a truly memorable experience. The highlight was a snowmobile ride organized by Harehopp, where the Arctic nature showed its full character, breathtaking Northern Lights and arctic weather adding real adventure to the ride. A warm and delicious traditional meat soup, served by Harehopp at the cabin Harehopp For the team from BES in Rotterdam, this was an especially unique and unforgettable experience, and for all of us, a great reminder of how shared experiences strengthen collaboration, trust, and team spirit across countries and cultures. A big thank you to Harehopp in Hammerfest for excellent organization and genuine Northern Norwegian hospitality.
